Waves
The waves glitter in starlight,
I look to distant shores,
like glass is the sea.
Like glorious silver the moon,
my hand grasps the sand,
the hour is coming.
The swan-ships are lost to fire,
I abandoned sister and brother,
my heart cries out.
Iron brought death,
the sea confines my world,
I refuse to speak.
Not to be named is the Noldorish hour,
dreadful the crossing of our paths,
a gull is laughing.
